Do I really have to use a vpn everytime I use my laptop?

Our teaming was all going good until then.

I wouldn't say everytime you use it, If this happens again that's when I would start using a VPN buddy.

I'd imagine you have a dynamic IP, just unplug your router for 10min or so Smile

Seriously?! People can be targets of a DDOS now? We need to spread some education through 'the masses', so that less people end up becoming a part of a bot-net, or at LEAST have a worthy tool to extricate themselves from others evil-fun.

I wonder if firewalls have grown a notch, for the small guy. You could still write a software FW using a Unix box, I suppose. But all that WORK, and not for anything fun-worthy! Most DDOS stuff is still pretty primitive. If you start blocking new inbound UDP traffic, that will take care of it, at least 50% of the time.

But, the bigger problem with a DDOS, is not whether your machine can handle it, but can your bandwidth.

If you're not at an office, and aren't the filthy-rich you need to be for a nice fibre connection, then you're still dead-in-the-water, and the only thing you could do,,,,,,, would be to take care of it somewhere upstream.
