Hmm! Congrats to everyone on being more than a quarter of the way to your goal!

Rumour today has it that.... should you succeed in getting 90% of the way there, @Mikasa will change it to "Count to 100,000!!!!!"

(Yes, I have a theory there is one '!' for every factor of 10. So since 100K = 10^5, there will be 5 '!'s!)

OH! And while we're doing math... This thread has an ASTOUNDING 10.5 THOUSAND views!

I have another theory, but not sure it holds any water... that if we take the # of total posts, and divide it by the total # of views, we have an approximation of the # of people playing.

I think this is my 3rd post in this thread. So have I viewed this 3 times? One time? Or 10 times, because the first time I read about 6 pages, and didn't just skip to the last page?! Is it possible to post without viewing? And can it possibly know if you're wearing a blindfold?!

~yells "@Sora, we need info on how this thing counts views!~

OH. And before my folly makes you guys forget:

@Squirrel It won't be my decision, the community decides whether we're going to continue till 100,000 or we quit after we reached the 10,000. Big Grin

But if the community is at an impasse, as the Community Manager, doesn't it seem like a rightly justifiable role, that you break the deadlock, for unity's sake?

~ahem~

I thought of another development. Has a two-person team set a benchmark for how quickly two people can post 'x' new messages in this thread? What's to prevent me from authoring a web-crawler/bot, then paying @OniNoby and @HazR $500.00USD ea. to run it constantly -- which would check every other second to see if someone else had posted, and then wait the 'x' "reasonable minimum # of seconds" before posting again?
To avoid detection, I would simply have it use a random # generator, to see how many minutes the bot would run in 'active' mode, and then generate a longer 'sleeper' ('y) wait time.

I bet it would get 'er done 20x to 200x faster! Then, not only would 100K be cake, 1000000 could be easy!

Here's thanking the attention I paid in Math Classes to help me find this revolutionary new definition of 'fun'! (Only for me, of course.)

...

~Squirrel sits back it's haunches and considers the drivel he has just sprouted~

On second thought, I'll save that $1000.00, and go buy a small acorn farm.

~gasping~

What do you MEAN there's no such thing as an acorn farm?!
