13 (thirteen) is the natural number following 12 and preceding 14.

In Canada, you can often play a trick on friends, sending them to some address, which is either a tall office tower, or apartment building... Give them a suite #1301 if it's an office tower or appt #1305...

They will get to the building, get into the elevator and discover...

There is no 13th floor!

People were superstitious, thought that the #13 was "bad luck" and avoided using it.

To this day, in North America, most tall buildings jump from Floor 12 to Floor 14......
Fight the Good Fight
(Listen with lyrics here!)
Make it worth the price we pay!
All your life you've been waiting for your chance,
Pray you'll fit into the Plan.
But you're the master of your own destiny,
So give and take the best that you can!

Hammurabi's Code: There is a myth that the earliest reference to thirteen being unlucky or evil is in the Babylonian Code of Hammurabi (circa 1780 BC), where the thirteenth law is said to be omitted. In fact, the original Code of Hammurabi has no numeration. The translation by L.W. King (1910), edited by Richard Hooker, omitted one article: If the seller have gone to (his) fate (i. e., have died), the purchaser shall recover damages in said case fivefold from the estate of the seller. Other translations of the Code of Hammurabi, for example the translation by Robert Francis Harper, include the 13th article.

In some countries, such as Italy, 13 is considered a lucky number. The expression fare tredici ("to do 13") means hit the jackpot. 17 is considered an unlucky number instead

There is no 13th Street in my town. It skips from 12, to a named street, to 14th.

But why are you afraid of the number 13? Huh

LOL! I actually didn't notice it was the 14th post to be fair!

Well, I'm not afraid of the number 13 actually. In fact, it's my favorite 2 digit number! I guess it just happens to be the number which I don't see often and that's not without reasoning of course. Some hotels and other places tend to skip number 13 and it's actually quite common, believe it or not. But the one I hate the most which also appears to be the most common number is number 45. God damn, I see that number every where!
