No-one refers to "North Americans" here normally. That said, Americans and Canadians generally like to think they are more different from the other, than they really are.

And where I am, there's lots of cities just south of me in the USA that are colder than my city. (lol) I'll never forget... I was at the west coast of our country in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the edge of the harbour there in the middle of our winter in February, and there are wild flowers growing in the soil! Now if you turned around, and saw the mountains, of course there's quickly snow up that slope. But right at the edge of the water, it was above zero C! If you ever visit Canada, and like scenery, I soooo recommend that. The mountains by themselves are breathtaking. When you journey on the 'Sea to Sky Highway' that runs up the coast, that is extra-spectacular, with the ocean on one side of you, and towering mountain on the other. There's no real way to capture the beauty with a camera... you need the human eye.
