If your like me, playing on an aging desktop system, and want to capture and post pics of your triumphs (or defeats), or just plain awesomeness...here are a few basic tips.
1. Taking screen shots on a Windows machine
a. press and hold the "Ctrl" key, while pressing tap the "print screen" button (between F12 and Scroll Lock). this basically copies whatever is on your screen at that moment to your clipboard. you wont see any notification that it's happened, and only 1 item at a time on clipboard
b. Alternativly you can add lightshot to chrome a.k.a. http://prnt.sc/
2. Viewing Screenshot
a. open Paint, and click on "edit". select "paste", and you should see your screenshot!
b. you can now name and save your screenshot for future viewing or (in our case) uploading. make sure to remember the file path ( where the picture is saved)! for one time only uses, you might want to save the image right to your desktop for easy disposal later.
3. Posting Images
a. after a little digging, i found there are quite a few ways to do this. to keep it simple, here is one easy method...http://postimage.org/
here you can upload your image without any registration,fee,sign up...and you can also re size image after upload for easy posting.
b. once image is uploaded you can click the button to copy the image to your clipboard or click on the image, then right click and select copy image address. when making your post, if you chose copy link, then you can just paste it in, if you copied an image address, then either use the image posting tool http://image.prntscr.com/image/58bd7dd1e...ced4e5.png
or you can type [img](then paste address here, then)[/img] and your image will display! that way you wont have one of those anoying thumbnail buttons that shows nothing
