I created this petition some days ago: https://www.change.org/p/miniclip-sa-sto...ng-agar-io
Please read and sign. The more people sign it, the better our chance of Miniclip listening and responding. If you are in contact with a popular Agar.io YouTuber, ask them to promote the petition please. I tried to email some of them but they ignored me. If you're in doubt regarding the success of gaming petitions, here is my previous successful gaming related one: https://www.change.org/p/nexon-shut-down...new-engine
Thanks!
The Petition Wrote:This petition requests Nexon Global (Nexon Co., Ltd, NEXON Korea Corporation, Nexon Europe GmbH, Nexon GT Co., Ltd) and NXC CORP (Parent organization) to recreate Combat Arms with modern technology based on user suggestions (forums) and the core identity of Combat Arms. Combat Arms is a free to play military FPS game that has millions of fans. The game desperately needs a reboot. Combat Arms was released in 2007. It's more than 9 years old. The game engine is outdated and not serviced any longer, therefore limiting the desires of the community and developers. The game is deteriorated and disorganized. We want a reboot - not a sequel. "Combat Arms" name is perfect - just reboot it. We would simply like to see a new and truly updated Combat Arms.
I am not at all familiar with this game... obviously you have enmjoyed it a lot...
It is possible that they might listen to you, if it still has a very healthy revenue stream?
But you have to know that's not the usual way things go for a "mature" game...
They will try to keep it going for as long as possible, so long as it doesn't lose them money, or bring their brand down. But asking for an engine rewrite, is basically asking them to redevelop it almost from scratch again. Maybe it's happened?? But it would be highly unusual.
Gaming is a very cutthroat industry. And it often requires ruthless business instincts. Just look at 'Electronic Arts'. In the early 80's, it had one of the biggest names as a game manufacturer, and now, people think that EA is one of the worst gaming companies. I have a feeling that they've just become better at making ruthless decisions... analysing a game demographic, and predicting how much "life" they're going to get out of it, and killing games promptly when their time is done.
Yo0u see the same in many companies.... for example, EverQuest which has been going for so long -- the parent company managed to sell what was left, and that company is making a go of it. But mature games are hard to keep afloat.
While many people may have played the game, and remember it fondly, most games, one tires of after playing a certain length of time. There's loyalists for every game -- games where it was more than just a game for those who stand by it, for various reasons... I hope your game gets the attention you're hoping for.... but I hope you'll recognize that the chances of that happening are.... less than 50/50, and probably much less.
Here's hoping your petition works, and that the economics of this game makes what you hope for possible!
