Wherever you have people, there will also be drama.

We're all so unique, so different in our frame of reference, and resulting feelings/beliefs.

We're doomed to cause more!

So again, you could create a new one, but don't think that it won't follow you there... ~grin~

I wanted to write a report, but I couldn't find the right words. So instead I recorded myself and I came up with the blabla on the spot. (Read: improvised). And oh god it is so obvious how unprepared I was, it's almost cringy, but at least I did something. The quality is terrible because I couldn't make audacity work so I had to use the native vocaroo recording function thing.

Should I do more of these audio recordings? Or do you think I should just post walls of text like before?

I think you've put a lot of thought into this, and through your recording I could attain the entire imagery around your perspective, planning, inspiration, and goals with the project. Can see that you've put in a lot of time. It was very interesting to listen to. The concept around the art, the game aspects itself. I think you managed to present the project well. Pointless Clicker (jokes on Cookie Clicker). When you mentioned the grandpa's, I could remember when I alpha tested the game a long time ago. I remember the bakery, and earning clicks from upgrades. How close are you to a beta release of the game?
I apply to be a beta tester.

Programming Satire!

It's all funny...

Yes, you're right time flies -- whether you're having fun or not!

And there's a REASON that there's this 'expression', "Programmer's Estimate"!

(The accepted rule of thumb, still used by managers of programming teams... Any programming task, complex or simple, will take approximately 4x longer than estimated.)

"The Evolution of Pointless Clicking" -- here I can assist you a bit! (You may not have been alive, lolllolol!)

It was 1982. And Microsoft had released it's first version (v3.0! lololllll!) of some new-fangled thing called 'Windows' -- trying to interface between the common "command driven" approach of computers at the time, and "the masses" who might be able to use a dang computer, if they didn't have to frick'n LEARN so many different commands!

And along with their basic graphics + mouse (and thus was born, 'point and click'), intended to bring the computer into the realm of the 'average Joe' (and his kids)... there were a few games.

In that first version (v3.0 ~hooooots & howwwls some more~), there was "Minesweeper" and "Solitaire".

For at least a DECADE following that time, I can recall seeing vice-principals, principals, department heads, managers, receptionists, yes even programmers, playing those two 'stock' games!

Think how much time those two non-productivity tools ALONE ate up, and estimate the cost to society in the trillions! (LOL!)

The fact of the matter is... Programming drives you INSANE! (And hence, why I haven't done it recently.)

So have fun, even fun with something which... is designed to "waste time".

With self-driving buses and trucks on the near horizon; more and more factories becoming completely automated, and all the people who will be twirling their thumbs like the fidget spinners of old...
I predict that governments around the world will have an ARMY of such paid positions, in order to keep their economies afloat, and their people occupied!

And ohhh &^#$3, I think I just wrote my last "highschool"-style essay.

But it was shorter than your audio message!! (hehehehe!)

~ducks & runs for the safety of the trees~

But I'm sure I'll be roadkill! (It's cool, that would permanently take care of my own 'lazy' problem!)

Thanks, I wasn't sure how it well it would do. Especially after listening to my recording and be like "oh I didn't really do great at explaining" and now that we're mentioning it, I'd like to say that at the part where I talk about what the elders are, I mention a planet and then suddenly starts saying the word "town" and go on with unclear gibberish, what I meant is that the setting is in a town where most (not all) inhabitants are old and that this town is located on a planet created by an evil god. To add further detail to this section, the planet is called Mania and the the town is called... P. City.

So you want to be a beta tester eh? That's great, but I'm not sure how long you'll wait before the beta comes into existance. I guess it would be somewhere between now and the end of the world. Hopefully before the world ends, but I cannot promise anything.

(lol!) A programmer who doesn't give estimates! What could be better than that??

I figure that the MS Windows "games" were done by junior programmers -- and that they were 'training projects' of sorts. They probably had no deadline either.... but the guy who got his version done first, before the release date... got his game added to the CD/DVD lol.

A little update on things happening these days

There was a bug with the alchemy lab which made it unresponsive and I couldn't figure it out at all. @Voakie saved the day by explaining to me things I should already know lol. Thanks to him, I was able to fix the alchemy lab. I'm also testing zombie upgrades.

ProjectAwesomes finished the artwork for demonified grandpas. Take a look.

2018 bump:

As you may have guessed, development is sort of on hiatus again. However, some new stuff have been happening here and there, nothing too big.

Projectawesome made an awesome animated background for when the player enters the bakery. However, due to some technical difficulties (read: skill level and motivation -4), it has yet to be implemented. Some bugs have been fixed here and there (I don't remember which ones). The appearance has seen a mini overhaul, again. Finally, I've added a text log at the bottom of the screen, since people were complaining that they clicked too fast and missed "important stuff" happening in what I call the console screen.

It's not a real hiatus like before. I'm still working on it when I can, but I'm not working on it as often as before, so expect maybe another year before anything serious happens.

Nice to see you come by again, and that you're still piddling away on things!

Having done some programming of my own, I can definitely vouch for it being a 'streaky' thing -- that the desire to do stuff comes in spurts. (Although, for debugging, less so. heh)

I hope that all of the rest of your life (which you never seem to talk about Wink ) is good too!

Oh but I talk plenty about one aspect of my life. It doesn't need to go further.
