It's cool... there was a little debate about the usefulness of new messages on old threads in another one recently, and just like I said there.... It takes new people awhile before they pay attention to those date/timestamps.
Opinion there varies, but according to me at least, it can be useful.
For the most part, no-one jumps at you over things like that here... we're a fairly docile bunch, outside of the game.
