What appeals to me, are the simplistic constructs and rules... It's a game that you can play if you only have a few minutes. Or you can stretch it into hours, if you have time to waste.
Anyone can quickly understand how it works, and begin playing. It's free. (~blows kisses @Sora, lol~) Anyone in the world can play. And only those with the most serious personal handicaps would be prevented. Plus, we can "meet" the players here, get to know them, form new friendships!
To me, the social aspect of it is why I have not set foot in agar.io in over a year now.
